-August 21, 2017 - Solar Eclipse - This will be a partial eclipse in northern Nevada - about 80% of the Sun will be covered - AT NO TIME DURING THE ECLIPSE IN NORTHERN NEVADA IS IT SAFE TO LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN WITHOUT EYE PROTECTION! At no time will it become dark as we are not in the zone of totality. In the northern Nevada area the eclipse will begin at 9:04 AM, reach maximum at 10:20 AM, and end at 11:43 AM.
